What is the difference between Office 365 and Office 2019?

Office 365 is a service that ensures you always have the most up-to-date modern productivity tools from Microsoft. Office 365 is provided to all current students for free. Office 365 includes the robust Office desktop apps that you're familiar with like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You also get online storage and cloud-connected features that let you collaborate on files in real time. You'll always have the latest features, fixes and security updates. You can use your apps on up to 5 devices on multiple PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones.

Office 2019 is a snapshot in time of Office apps. There are no feature updates, but security updates are provided. Office 365 and Office 2019 had the same featureset when Office 2019 was first released. However, Office 2019 will remain the same, while Office 365 will get feature updates and changes. At this time, there are no major differences between the two versions. However, the differences will continue to increase over time.
