Zoom Outage Workarounds for August 24, 2020

Zoom is currently experiencing issues and certain services are unavailable. For the current status, please check https://status.zoom.us/.

The Zoom outage appears to be affecting Zoom access via the web application. If you are having issues connecting to Zoom, please connect by opening the Zoom application and connecting to your meeting from there. This has worked some of the time. Some people have been able to use the web link after multiple tries.

Note: If you do not have Zoom installed, you will need to download the Zoom app first.

  1. Click on the Start button in the bottom left corner of your Windows computer.
  2. Type Zoom
  3. The Zoom app will pop up. Click on the app.

  4. To Log In to Zoom:
    1. Click Sign In with SSO

    2. Enter minnstate.zoom.us

    3. Enter your StarID and password.

  5. The Zoom app will open. There are two ways to connect to meetings:
    1. Click Join and enter the Meeting ID
If you don't know the meeting ID, find the link to the meeting and look at the name or numbers after the last slash ("/") the end. For example: https://minnstate.zoom.us/j/95164318456
    2. OR click Meetings and select the Meeting you want to join.
